Laffin: Preliminary Inquiry – Day 2

Judge Anne Derrick along with the legal counsel met again today to hear from two more witnesses and gather more evidence in Steven Elliot Laffin's second degree murder case. As it stands, seven witnesses have taken in the stand during the preliminary inquiry. A publication ban imposed on witnesses and evidences impedes media from sharing concrete information with fear this information could affect Laffin's chance to a fair trial.

Members of the public along with friends of Nadine Taylor, supporters from Stepping Stone and family members were in the audience today.

Tomorrow, the matter will be moved to courtroom 2 at the Halifax Provincial Court in order to increase the convict's security. During the sixth witness examination, a member of the audience, whom we hear was a friend of Taylor, left the room and came within inches of Laffin when she pointed to him as if her hand was a gun.

The defence lawyer requested the remaining days of preliminary inquiry be moved to another room where Laffin can be kept safer from the audience.
